POTTER VALLEY, Mendocino County — October 23, 2026. Potter Valley is one of the communities named in Mendocino County’s 2026–2027 Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account project list. On the May 5, 2026 Board of Supervisors agenda, transportation staff presented Resolution 26-076 and its project list for state Senate Bill 1 road maintenance funding. Other listed areas include Caspar/Comptche, Redwood Valley, Ukiah and Calpella.
What is SB 1 funding?
California’s Road Repair and Accountability Act provides transportation revenue that local jurisdictions can direct to qualifying road maintenance and rehabilitation. The county’s official staff report describes improving roadway surfaces with seal treatments or asphalt overlays. It does not promise that every road in Potter Valley is scheduled for complete reconstruction during one fiscal year.
Does this confirm a contractor is already paving?
No. Approval of a project list supports planning and public accountability. Each road segment may need design, bid, staffing, scheduling and traffic-control arrangements. A listed project is not proof that crews started work or that a resident can expect a specific street to be closed next week. For details, consult the attached 2026–27 RMRA Project List Letter and later county contract records.
What should residents document?
Drivers and property owners can record potholes, drainage problems or unsafe shoulders with the exact county-road designation and a safe photograph. State highways and privately maintained roads may be handled by different agencies. Emergency hazards should be reported through the appropriate public-safety contact rather than waiting for the next county budget meeting.
Where can people ask questions?
Mendocino County Transportation’s staff report lists 707-463-4363 for department contact and provides links to the full resolution and project list. When requesting a status update, specify the road name and project number if known. The complete county document is the source for any exact location or dollar allocation.
